The central Library is a proud partner in the Institute's march towards its vision playing a vital role in acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge.The main thrust of the library continues to be the improvement of the quality of services and facilities, achieving higher degree of user's satisfaction and modernization of its activities and operations.

With over 12015 volumes, 2156 Titles and 5355 E-Books, more being addeddaily, the library at GIITS is a massive storehouse of ideas down the centuries. Besides stocking one copy of each of the textbooks, the libraryhas a mine of information with several books on advanced topics. In the Library department wise books, reference books, journals, newspapers, magazines, and Digital library are being maintained. Open access system is being followed in the Library. The Library operations have been computerized by using KOHA software package. The Library has highspeed Internet facility for 15 Systems with 100 Mbps dedicated network. All the Student and Staff Members can use the facility on Library working hours.

All TheE-Journals and articles can be downloaded through Remote Access. The Library has also developed a full-fledged Digital Library,equipped with necessary modem equipment in order to provide various digital Libraryservices. DELNET, NDLIand e-shodhsindhu. The central library is opened from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M on all working days.

Central Library Rules & Regulations:

  • Silence to be maintained.
  • No discussion permitted inside the library.
  • Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources.
  • No personal belongings allowed inside the library.
  • Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
  • Using Cellular phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • Enter your name and Sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering library
  • Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter.
  • The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
  • Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises
  • The Library owns latest Xerox machines for Photo Copying purpose of the Library Members. Only Library related materials will be allowed to Xerox.
