Siddheshwari Prasad Chakravarti was an Indian engineer, researcher, and educator. He was known as the father of electronics and telecommunications engineering in India. He served as Head of the Electrical engineering department at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, as the founding Education Career Principal of Government Engineering College, Jabalpur, the oldest technical institution in central India, where he established the first Electronics & Telecommunications engineering department of India, and as the first Dean of the Faculties of Engineering of the University of Saugor and the University of Jabalpur.
The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department was established in the year 2009. The department offers Undergraduate (UG), Post Graduate (PG), programs that provide students with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in the Electronics and Communication Engineering. Post graduation focuses on future prospective of VLSI technologies
Currently the department offers four-year B. Tech course with student intake of 60 and MTech course with intake of 24 students. Our faculty brings state-of-the-art research, development, and design experience into the classroom, ensuring that our students and alumni are able to apply for registration as professional engineers in all part of global engineering and the scientific community. In all courses the department has built an excellent reputation for its graduates in termsofplacements.
The department has mission to educate the students with the state of art technologies to meet the growing challenges of the industry, to carry out research through constant interaction with research organizations and industry, and to equip the students with strong foundations to enable them for continuing education. So, the vision is to excel in education in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
